The candidate should be able to pass a complete and thorough criminal background check, as well as a drug test
This is a 10-99 independent contractor position – 6 to 10 hrs./week to start
The candidate should be legally authorized to work in the US, as an independent contractor

We are looking for a Sewing Instructor Extraordinaire to join our team. This position is perfect for someone who has intermediate sewing skills and an enthusiastic, personable and fun personality.
The perfect team member should have/be:
- Intermediate sewing skills, either personal or commercial
- A passion for fashion
- The ability to successfully work with kids, teens and adults, of various ages and skill levels
- The ability to motivate and inspire people
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to teach our beginner and intermediate students, in theory and practice, basic and intermediate sewing skills and techniques such as how to use their sewing machine, cut fabric, read commercial patterns and complete various projects (home décor, quilts, garment making, altering and mending, bag making etc.)
- Self-starter: although a curriculum will be provided, we also offer students the option to work on projects of their choice. From time to time, if needed, you must have the desire and ability to research and prep the class, in advance.
- Flexible schedule as days, times and teaching hours of the week and weekend will vary. However, must be available on some evenings and weekends.
- Prior teaching experience is a plus
- Ability/experience in writing lesson plans and curriculum is a plus.
